The inspiration: Rome, 1954, 11.02 pm, Hotel Hassler, San Pietro presidential suite. The scene shows a slip dress and silk stockings on the floor, a pillow smeared with lipstick, a tie tied around the bedpost, suspicious red stains on the carpet. Crumpled, untidy sheets. Ripe figs exude their scent from a bowl, a tilted window. The powdery scent of intimacy and lust is in the air...
